Two reviews from July 2026 report roaches and a dirty building. Earlier reviews don't raise it.

The building advertises a special but doesn't post the amount. Checked November 4, 2026. "Nearby, typical" is the middle rent for similar homes within 0.2 miles.
Height here doesn't set the price as much as you'd expect. The same plan can cost more on a lower floor than a higher one, so compare homes, not plans.

The property lists no fixed monthly fees on top of rent.
On top of that: utilities. Utility bills depend on how much you use.

Dallas Power & Light is a 1931 Art Deco tower. The lofts keep the old building's bones: tall ceilings, polished concrete, original terrazzo in places and the brass and marble elevator lobby. Recent Google reviews are mostly 5 stars for the staff and maintenance. A few 2026 reviews report roaches and hard parking. The 1931 bones are the reason to live here, and the elevator lobby tells you in about a minute whether they're for you.
Every written review we found on Google.
“The property has so much character, and I love the combination of the historic feel with the modern amenities.”
“the unit is quiet despite being in a central location”
“The roach problem is terrible, and it doesn't seem to be taken seriously.”

The street scores 69 out of 100 (higher is quieter), mostly from traffic. It's in the middle of downtown, and a 2022 review mentions pet noise in the halls.
FEMA puts this address outside its high risk flood area. Renters insurance doesn't cover floods, cars in the garage included.

Yes. The 19 story Art Deco tower at 1506 Commerce went up in 1931 as the headquarters of Dallas Power & Light, the city's electric company. Lang & Witchell designed it. It's joined to the 1903 Crowdus Building at 1512 Commerce, and the complex became a Dallas Landmark in 2003. The original elevator lobby is still in use.
Apartments.com lists a $75 application fee per applicant and a $250 admin fee, and no required monthly fees. The property doesn't publish a fee sheet, so we ask about trash, pest and other monthly charges before you apply. Go by the figures the office quotes.
There's gated garage parking, but the site asks you to call for rates and availability. A July 2026 review says finding a spot can be hard. We ask what's open and what it costs before your tour. Downtown garages nearby rent by the month too.
Yes, cats and dogs, up to two. Apartments.com lists a $200 deposit and a $300 one time fee per pet, with no monthly pet rent. There's a pet wash station, and Main Street Garden Park's dog run is about six minutes away.
The site lists ceilings of 16 feet or more in some plans, skylights, polished concrete or original terrazzo floors, and private terraces, some on more than one level. Kitchens have granite counters and stainless appliances, and the building is wired for AT&T Fiber.
On a rooftop deck with a hot tub, grills and a clubhouse with a prep kitchen. The site doesn't say which roof. The property's photo shows it below the neighboring towers, so it's likely on one of the complex's lower buildings.
